Email verification and video editing
We send email verification codes through Resend using your email address. A pending signup includes a password hash and registration details; verification codes and challenge secrets are stored as protected digests. Codes expire after 10 minutes and verification records are removed after one day. Video editing and preparation run on your device. Additional media and text become part of the finished video you choose to upload.
Who operates this app
Konpiko is a short-video community. Contact Konpiko staff through the website Help and contact form or Settings - Help and safety in the app.
Information used
We store your account email, username, profile, password hash, stated birth date, Terms acceptance, uploads and audio, comments, follows, likes, messages, reports, support requests and security sessions. A keyed network hash is retained for up to 30 days to investigate related-account abuse; shared networks are not proof of common ownership and are not used for advertising. We do not store plaintext passwords. An account is required to browse or watch. There is no guest mode.
Recommendations and safety
Private watch summaries and hashtags may personalize Discover. Teen personalization defaults off. You can turn personalization off or clear watch history in Data and privacy. Automatic content moderation may identify content for staff review. An automatic hold does not create an automatic permanent removal or account penalty.
Advertising and sharing
Advertising is disabled at launch. If enabled by the primary admin, ads are clearly labeled, contextual and reviewed for a teen audience. Teen watch history, private messages and sensitive personal interests are not used to target ads. This version has no third-party ad network SDK. Sharing to another app is initiated by you and that service applies its own policies.
Visibility and access
Public uploads and profile details are visible to other viewers. Messages require mutual follows and are limited to authenticated participants. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Staff review specific messages when a participant reports them; ordinary moderator tools do not expose entire private inboxes.
Retention and deletion
Photo stories expire from public viewing after 24 hours. Reported story photos may be retained as moderation evidence until the associated reports are deleted. Account and watch-history data remain until you delete the account or clear applicable history. Account deletion removes uploads, avatar files, messages, comments, sessions and preferences, with retrying cleanup if storage is temporarily unavailable. Reports filed by other people and non-identifying moderation history may remain for safety investigations. Closed reports/support tickets expire after 180 days, raw advertising decisions after 90 days, and temporary moderation viewer records after 24 hours. Legacy guest records expire after 90 days; guest access is disabled. Backups and legally required retention must be documented on the public website before launch.
Your controls
Settings provides account deletion, sign out of all devices, blocked-user management, watch-history controls, policy access and a private staff contact form. Use the privacy contact category to request clarification or additional data help. No contacts, precise location or activity from other apps is collected for recommendations.
Website accounts and contact
The website uses essential, HttpOnly cookies for account sessions and private contact-request receipts. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Website sign-in permits account management, deletion and appeals, including for suspended accounts. Public contact forms accept messages without requiring an app account; staff replies are available to the submitting browser. Include contact details only when needed, and do not submit passwords or illegal media.
Young people
Konpiko is 13+. Teens receive conservative defaults and contextual-only advertising. The date of birth supplied at registration is a self-declaration, not identity verification. Regional age assurance and any required guardian-consent arrangements must be completed before distributing in regions that require them.
